People of Britain

Robert HampsonRobert Hampson was born in 1958 in Upminster, Essex. A major part of his childhood was centred around involvement in the Baptist Church. After school he studied Economics and Government at the London School of Economics, where he graduated in 1980. Later he took three further degrees in Biblical Studies, Philosophy and Liturgy at Heythrop College , London. He trained to be a priest in the Church of England at Ridley College, Cambridge and was ordained in 1997. Besides being a vicar he is visiting tutor in Kierkegaard studies at Heythrop. Since 2001 he has been involved with the Three Faiths Forum in East London and has been chairman since 2006.
